R2R Training and Development creates sustained professional-development journeys that strengthen the individual behind the employee.
Our programmes connect personal identity with practical workplace capability, helping people build confidence, emotional intelligence, healthy professional relationships, resilience and a stronger sense of purposeful contribution.
Learning is supported through reflection, practical application, guided coaching and reinforcement over time, not simply through a once-off training event.

Why this space exists

The Grounded Professional Journey
A structured personal and professional development journey for working individuals, employee groups and organisations.
The Grounded Professional Journey is a sustained employee-development programme that strengthens the personal foundations underlying effective workplace behaviour.
Through facilitated learning, guided reflection, practical workplace application and coaching conversations, participants develop greater self-awareness, confidence, emotional intelligence, professional conduct, resilience and purposeful contribution.

Who is this journey for?
School leavers and graduates preparing to or about to enter the workplace
Early – career employees establishing themselves in their careers and professions
Employees navigating change, pressure or difficult working environments
Admin and operational employees wanting to strengthen workplace capabilities
Experienced employees seeking renewed direction and purposeful growth
Employers investing in meaningful, people-centred employee development
The core journey remains consistent, while examples, activities and workplace application can be adapted to suit the needs of each participant group or organisation.

What participants will develop
The journey follows eight connected areas of development, each building on the participant’s growing understanding of themselves and how they engage with the workplace.
1. Understanding Myself
Developing self-awareness and recognising personal values, strengths, patterns and areas for growth.
2. Professional Identity and confidence
Building a grounded sense of who participants are beyond their job titles and how they want to show up at work.
3. Emotional Intelligence
Recognising emotions, regulating responses, developing empathy and responding thoughtfully to feedback and pressure.
4. Working Effectively in Teams
Understanding team dynamics, shared goals, accountability, trust and the impact of individual behaviour on others.
5. Communication and Workplace Relationships
Communicating clearly, navigating disagreement, giving and receiving feedback and asking for support appropriately.
6. Professional Conduct, Ethics and Boundaries
Applying workplace values and codes of conduct, making responsible decisions and respecting personal and professional boundaries.
7. Resilience and Wellbeing
Navigating pressure and change, recovering from setbacks and protecting wellbeing without normalising harmful working conditions.
8. Contribution and Continued Growth
Connecting individual roles to organisational purpose and creating practical plans for continued development.
How the journey works
Delivered over approximately 8 to 12 weeks, the programme combines structured learning with reflection, application and reinforcement.
- An initial Professional Growth Self-Assessment
- Six to eight facilitated group-development sessions
- A participant-owned Professional Growth Portfolio
- Practical workplace application between sessions
- Guided reflection activities
- Individual coaching conversations
- Peer learning and reflection
- A final 30-, 60- and 90-day Professional Growth Plan
- A closing Reflection and Application Panel
- A follow-up session to reinforce continued development
The programme can be offered to public cohorts or adapted for employee groups within an organisation. The core framework remains consistent, while examples, activities and organisational context can be tailored to the needs of the participating group.
What participants will develop
Every participant builds a confidential, participant-owned Professional Growth Portfolio throughout the journey. It records reflection, workplace application and continued development without becoming a burdensome portfolio of evidence.
- A Professional Growth Self-Assessment
- A personal and professional identity statement
- A strengths, values and capabilities map
- Emotional-intelligence and workplace-trigger reflections
- A communication and feedback toolkit
- A team-contribution profile
- An ethical decision-making and professional-conduct commitment
- A personal boundary and wellbeing plan
- A workplace resilience plan
- Records of practical workplace application
- A contribution map connecting their role to organisational purpose
- A 30-, 60- and 90-day Professional Growth Plan
The portfolio belongs to the participant. Employers receive evidence of participation, application and overall programme outcomes, but not private reflections, personal disclosures or individual coaching notes.
